The Information Technology & Marketing Specialist Position
M&M Excavating is experiencing growth and is seeking to add an Information Technology & Marketing Specialist to its team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration, SharePoint management, and Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and pivot tables. An understanding of data protection and cybersecurity is preferred, along with the ability to support and train employees.
Responsibilities include providing technical support to M&M Excavating employees. Coordinating with external partners to troubleshoot system errors, as well as managing hardware and software installation, maintenance, IT inventory, and employee training. In addition, the specialist works closely with management on marketing projects, including overseeing social media accounts, and maintaining the company website.

The Mechanic Position
M&M Excavating is planning for future retirements and therefore needs to add an Experienced Mechanic to its yard team. This position requires knowledge of diesel, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, and components for Heavy Civil Construction Equipment. Excavators, loaders, bulldozers, graders, semi-trucks, and pickups are all in a day’s work!
Responsibilities include completing assigned work safely and efficiently. Duties range from removing/installing components on heavy machinery to diagnosing and troubleshooting potential problems to testing and verifying correct operation of equipment.
A valid CDL and favorable driving record is required for this position.

Project Manager
Under the direction of the VP – Project Management, the Project Manager leads Project Teams toward the successful execution of construction projects from the initial hand-off from Estimating through final completion and close-out. Project Managers are responsible for overall project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting, and control, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards and applicable laws and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Attends Project Handoff Meeting & Close Out meetings w/ Estimator and Project Superintendent.
- Completes final quantities when projects are done with project owners and subcontractors in a timely manner.
- Creates / Reviews / Tracks:
- Purchase Orders for assigned projects utilizing quotes from suppliers proved by project estimator.
- Material Source Lists from Selected Suppliers.
- Shop Drawings / Submittals
- Preliminary project schedule
- Subcontracts
- Land-Use Agreement / Various Waiver Letters
- Material Delivery Schedules and Updates.
- Extension of Time Requests
- Notice of Intent to Claim letters
- Letters of Completion
- Communicate any plan revisions / change orders to Project Superintendent and GPS Manager
- Complete Annual Reviews and Quarterly Compasses
- Monthly / Bi-weekly Duties:
- Project financial reporting including cost to complete, percent complete, and quantity projections to determine final contract amount.
- Coding and approving payables for project materials and services.
- Invoicing for completed work on non MDOT projects.
- Reviewing pay applications on MDOT / Local Agency projects and ensuring proper payments to Subcontractors.
- Monthly Cash-Flow projections reported to ELT
- Weekly Duties:
- Attend all project meetings.
- Coordinate Subcontractors with Project Superintendent and ensure performance of work from subs within subcontract terms. Utilizing phone calls, texts and emails.
- Update lookahead schedule for M&M, Project Owner and Subcontractors.
- Review Project Supervisor’s 2-week schedule ensuring all necessary resources are addressed.
- Attend Tuesday and Thursday, M&M Global schedule and resource allocation meetings.
- Travel to active projects on a regular basis. (1-2 times a week at a minimum)
- Daily Duties:
- Reviews and approves timecards and quantities reported by project supervisor or field engineer.
- Addresses questions from project supervisor and project owner to ensure continued project productivity.
- Tracks any extra work and requests pricing for extra work from Project Estimator, ensures timely extra work payment from project owner.
- Onsite field management assistance if required. Functions as Project Supervisor if they are unable to be onsite at project due to emergency or approved time off.
- Any written correspondence to the project owner as required.
- Perform and/or delegate all tasks necessary to maintain and grow the legacy of M&M Excavating, even those above & beyond normal job responsibilities.

GPS / Survey Technician

As the Company continues to experience steady growth, it is seeking multiple Survey Technicians with a strong work ethic who can perform quality control by checking plans through GNSS and Total Station technology as it applies to grading and utility installation operations. This position has very strong potential for future growth within the company.

Required:
- Experience with remote field work and road construction (preferred)
- Perform construction layout and quality control checks
- Read and interpret construction/road layout plans (This will be taught but experience is preferred)
- Adaptable to emerging technologies such as laser scanning and drones
- Able to maintain all surveying equipment including data collectors, GPS surveying gear, Total Station gear, field surveying supplies, tools, etc (This will be taught)
- Reliable transportation
- Confidence with new technology
- Familiarity with programs such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals (This will be taught)
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and interpret bar graphs (This will be taught)
- Familiarity with simple geometry equations such as Pythagorean Theorem and SOH CAH TOA (This will be taught)
- Ability to problem solve and perform on-site technical analysis if problems arise from the plans (This will be taught)
- Ability to walk great distances, lift heavy objects, and work in all weather conditions
- Understands proper checklist, manual, and SOP use and integration (This will be taught)
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- High school diploma or GED required (Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Successful completion of a background check
- Successful completion of a urine analysis.
